| I think we should keep the current rule set, but that depends on how you guys want to play.
EDITED BY Rincewind ~~Recreated poll, with new options. Please keep in mind that this discussion is about the rules, not the new terminology. There's nothing stopping us from still using the words resolve, in play, and removed from game.

| I'm not going to make a decision until after the prerelease, where I'll experience the new rules and will be in a position to judge which is better. | |

| I think we should adopt the Rules (they make sense)... But reject the Teminology (as PC crap.) | |

| these are both very reasonable proposals and make a lot of sense but also complicate things, what i'd do is adapt the terminology to the old rules and forget it, and just use the cards as they should be. which means that i don't want to use the new rules, my mind might change after the pre-release but until then i say hell no.

| I don't think anyone should be allowed to vote until after the prerelease, because we haven't actually experienced the new rules yet. | |

| I doubt whether the prerelease will make much difference to most people as it seems only 2 people intend to attend and therefore by your definition only 2 people will be able to vote. All of the new cards will be based on both the new rules and also the new terminology and it will be virtually impossible to adopt the new cards without adopting both the new rules and the new terminolgy. The alternative is to ban all of the new cards and live in the "dark ages". (not a realistic proposal!) As I see it, the rule changes are not dramatic and are designed to be intuitive (make sense) to new players. This is not a bad thing and will reduce confusing and unnecessary complexity. The changes to the rules are quite well defined. As for the teminology, it doesn't really matter. The old players will know what they are talking about, any new players will be a bit confused by terminology of the older cards, just as we are now. I'd say we will have to adapt and play by the new Rules especially anyone that intends to attend pre-releases in the future! | |

| I've read through the new rules carefully, and it actually appears that the current way we play are the new rules basically, as we never respond to damage on, and usually use combat tricks before then, so the only person who the new rules might affect would be Kevin, and possibly Max. | |

| They're pretty much the same as the old ones, they just cut a couple of sneaky tricks that people like Kevin could do.
Basically, if we play like we normally do, we'll be doing most of the new rules.

| damn it i've done plenty of things in response to damage on, and when damage is on and before it resolves grrrrrrr. this out of wack. i'd be happy just to ban everything new. or maybe we keep the new cards separate from the others and only use them in games against other new cards. instead of having to mix the 2. i'm sure Mishra would be unhappy to see artifacts on his ''battle field'' -.- | |

| Hi All
As most of you know, a new Magic the Gathering set is about to be released. To celebrate this and to give you a chance to get your hands on some of the new cards before they go on sale, Heroes for Sale is holding a Prerelease Tournament this Saturday the 11th of July.
The tournament will be held at the Wesley Broadway Methodist Church hall (where we have held these events before). I've attached a map to help you find the place.
The doors will be opening at 8:45am and the tournament will start at 9:15am. Please be there on time :-)
The cost will be $55 per player. For your $55 you will receive 6 M10 Booster packs to build your deck with. You will also be getting a commemorative foil rare and winning at least one more Booster as prize.
We will be playing a sealed deck format which means each player will build a 40 card minimum deck out of the cards he or she opens from the booster packs along with basic land.
As many of you know, the release of M10 also coincides with some rules changes. The link below has a nice outline of the rules changes, there will also be some extra information on the day.
http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/feature/42a
If time permits, we will run a Draft in the afternoon. This will start no earlier than 1:30pm and the cost will be $25 per player.
These events are always a lot of fun so I hope to see you all there :-)
Please contact me if you have any questions.

| You can still do things before damage is on, the only change is that now you can't do things after the damage is on but before everything dies. | |

| It won't affect any of the cards you're playing the way you play them. | |

| It means that you can react to damage, eg. if your guy mysteriously disappears when attackers and blockers have been declared, then it can still deal combat damage or something to that effect. | |
