Blood Vortex

Target player sacrifices a permanent.
Pay 1 life: Choose target player, then copy Blood Nexus. Change the target of each Vortex to that player. Any player may play this ability.

The idea for the rare cycle of Vortices was to have a spell that each player could build up and redirect, each using a cheap cost that wasn't mana-based to limit bias.

Seek the Vortex

Instant - Vortex
Target player searches his or her library for a Vortex card, reveals it, and puts it into his or her hand. Then that player shuffles his or her library.

This uncommon cycle of instant Vortices can not only interact with the rare Vortices by being redirected, they also directly interact with other Vortex cards.

Whenever a Vortex spell that targets enchanted player resolves, you may draw a card, then discard a card.

The second uncommon cycle are all player auras, which all have the same trigger.

Seed Harvest

Put a 1/1 green Saproling creature token into play.
Whenever you play a nongreen Vortex spell, if Seed Harvest is in your graveyard, shuffle Seed Harvest into your library.

The first common cycle is fairly weak, but shuffles back in whenever you play an off-color Vortex.

Constrictor Flames

Sorcery - Vortex
Constrictor Flame deals 3 damage to target creature or player.
Whenever you play a Vortex spell with converted mana cost 4, you may return Constrictor Flame from your graveyard to your hand.

These commons return to your hand whenever you play a Vortex with CMC one greater than their own.
