Ok, we're voting on the forum font here. Current choices are Arial and Papyrus

If you can think of more good fonts you can suggest them too!
Keep in mind that whicever font you pick will be used for everything...
So don't pick fonts like Wingdings!
Note for sad people: Each of those fonts is different on my pc, so if you don't have the fonts installed, it's your own [insert expletives here]-ing fault. Got that? So no moaning if they look regular...

This text is in "Arial"
As you can see Arial is a pretty normal standard windows font,
and is quite large and reasonably readable.
These lines are to help you pick the font you prefer.

This text is in "Papyrus"
As you can see Papyrus is a more unique font,
But it is also more spidery and possibly less legible.
These lines are to help you pick the font you prefer.

Personally Papyrus is ok for me, although I appreciate the fact that some can't read it.
I find Arial not proportional enough (ie too monospaced)
Times New Roman is acceptable, although boring.

I will add any more suggestions to the poll as needed. You can vote on more than one font, and you can change your mind too.

Personally I agree with William that the other fonts are boring, and I don't really see how Papyrus is that hard to read.

I like Papyrus, but is it possible to default it to bold?

I agree with the afro
i.e. Bold it, or Can it......

Remember that there are some in the group that still have to put up with cruddy old CRT monitors (not speaking personnally of course!)

Sorry about that Sam, CRT is probably better than LCD, the lower the resolution the better.
I can hardly read anything on this forum. The higher the definition, the more difficult it is to read this stupid font thats obviously only a single pixel wide.

Who's silly idea was it anyway?

Maybe I should arbitrarily start changing things as well!

You can set the font size on your internet browser, or I can up the font size for the forum. I've already upped it, but it can get bigger...

You should be able to read the font perfectly clearly, unless you have font smoothing or cleartype enabled. CRT or LCD should make no difference.

If you check the examples at the top of the page you'll see they are more or less the same size, in fact the font size has been increased when compared to what it was originally.

Oh, and I couldn't help it - just had to put the yellow pages thing there.. Laughing
Consider it a punishment for being disruptive. If you disagree with the choice of font you are welcome to voice your concerns, but there is no need to stage a protest abou t it - Hopefully we can all agree on a font that is both readable and unique.

Thats all very well Will but you yourself said:

although I appreciate the fact that some can't read it.
If this was truly the case then you should never have changed it without a proper mandate!
After all from the poll 50% disagree with the font, therefore you should change it back to
something more readable!

If you contiue with this role as irresponsible dictator then I will gladly boycott this forum.

Actually no, I allowed people to vote for multiple fonts, and I voted for both Papyrus and Other, so under 50% oppose the current font.
